Our design process begins with an initial meeting to find out what you hope to achieve and to assess your existing landscape. Then we arrange a time to measure and photograph the site and begin to develop a Conceptual Plan.

Our Conceptual Plan conveys our vision of a new garden that will suit your lifestyle and needs. After any necessary refinements we prepare detailed Master and Planting Plans. These plans are used to solicit bids for installation.

The installation process is as important as the design itself. We work in collaboration with contractors, craftsmen and artists who we believe do exceptional work and we can recommend these to bid on the installation. We can also work with other contractors our clients might favor. In our experience questions always arise and they need to be addressed promptly or substitutions and changes occur, changing the intent of the design. We normally work as advisors to the contractor to ensure that our designs are properly executed.

We are often asked to maintain gardens as they grow to maturity. As an additional service we have trained several staff of a landscape maintenance company that we can recommend.
